According to today's Oxford Mail sourfaced former Blackburn boss Ray Harford is the new favourite to take over at the Manor, due to a some significant betting on him – mugs, or insider information? Another name not previously mentioned in connection with the post which is now being linked is that of Ian Porterfield.

Andy Thomson scored Gillingham's second as they beat Bournemouth 4-1; Howard Forinton scored Peterborough's equaliser as they drew 1-1 at Carlisle; Marco Gabbiadini scored for Darlington but Torquay equalised to draw 1-1; Ian Walker is in the process of negotiating a new contract at Tottenham; Matt Le Tissier has hinted that he would consider a loan move from Southampton in order to get first team action.
