Cor baby that's really Freedman
Two goals from Dougie Freedman and one from Tariq Nabil sent Oxford's reserves crashing to a 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace this afternoon. United's goal, with the score at 2-0, came from ROS Chris Hackett. Reserves coach David Oldfield claimed that Paul Powell and Dean Whitehead were United's best players. Triallist Craig Strachan played another 90 minutes for United.
Ford is Court
Former United skipper, caretaker manager and coach Mike Ford is apparently taking the club to court. Ford, backed by the League Managers Association and the Professional Footballers Association, claims that the club owes him compensation following his dismissal in February. He says that he was given just over one month's severence pay, but that his contract stipulates he should be paid three months notice.
