Return of the Macc

Macclesfield Town pay their second visit to the KasStad on Saturday looking to do the double over United, boosted by the confidence that last season's 2-0 win would have given them. They will also be pleased by Oxford's home form, which is little better than it was last season. United could well be further diminished if Lee Steele fails to recover from the knee injury he received on Tuesday night, meaning that Steve Basham and Jefferson Louis are the only fit strikers in the squad. It was telling that none of ROS Chris Hackett, Paul Powell, Dean Whitehead or Manny Omoyinmi played for the reserves yesterday as the Us squad is reduced to its bear bones.

With the injury that Simon Cox received in the reserves game Alan Judge is also the only fit goalkeeper in the squad unless Ian Atkins is successful in bringing in someone on loan. Defensively and in midfield the Us look to be in reasonable shape.

Macclesfield are having a disastrous season, fourth from bottom but equal on points to all the teams below them. They include former United midfielder David Smith in their squad, but he has only managed three games for them this season and is unlikely to figure. Despite their appalling record (Macclesfield haven't won away since beating Wrexham on New Years Day) Rage Online is confident, once again, that United will blow it on the day and we predict a 1-0 win to the away side.
