With no verdict having been announced in the Les Wells right of way case we will now have to wait until April 2nd as the QC George Lawrence (no, not Chicken George) has gone on holiday. That, coincidentally, is also the date that Wells' judicial review is due to be heard into the cinema planning application. Meanwhile pressure is continuing to mount on the City Council for them to agree to pay their court costs, estimated at about £60,000, to enable the deal between Wells and Kassam to be ratified. The Council is 99% confident that it will win the case, hence its reluctance to spend tax payers' money on costs which Wells will have to pay should he lose. Work is continuing at Minchery Farm but one has to wonder how long Kassam will continue to sanction this whilst there are still issues outstanding.
Will be a partial re-run of the '86 Milk Cup final between Oxford and QPR as United's goalkeeping coach Alan Judge is trying to gather together his former team-mates, all for charity of course. QPR are also getting a team together comprising as many of their '86 losers as possible (a return to the Manor for Johnny Byrne?) so let's hope the result is the same. One wonders whether Malcolm Shotton will turn out for the Yellows. The game will take place on Sunday May 13th.
It has been revealed via a route involving Jamie Cook's girlfriend that the three United exiles in Boston will be sharing a house there together, where doubtless they will be having many a tea party. They will also be getting a kitten, also presumably shared. Lovely.
