Reserves take lesson from first team

Oxford reserves showed that anything the first team can do they can match (almost). United were leading 1-0 at half-time through Jamie Brooks and Jordan Holder made it 2-0 early in the second half, but Bristol City fought back to earn a 2-2 draw. Ian McGuckin and Lee Jarman proved that even at this level they are out of their depth and Peter Fear was nowhere to be seen, lending credence to the rumour that he has a clause in his contract permitting him to refuse to play for the reserves. Mike Ford, however, did make a guest appearance.

Council latest

The solicitors for Firoz Kassam, Les Wells and Oxford City Council are to meet tomorrow morning at 11.00 to sort out the paperwork in readiness for the anticipated rubber-stamping of the deal at full Council at 6.30 in the evening. The confusion over whether or not the withdrawal of the Judicial Review forms part of the deal stems from the necessity of the paperwork to be complete transferring Wells' land to Kassam before the JR is abandoned, but it will not go ahead should all the red tape be finalised by the end of the week. Birse were on site today, and presumably will continue until the end of this week at least. Of course, if the Council votes against the deal then everything will be up in the air again.
