At the full Council meeting tonight there was only one item on the agenda – the deal between Firoz Kassam, Les Wells and Oxford City Council. Despite concerns raised by some of the Councillors in attendance over residents parking schemes in Littlemore and Blackbird Leys and access down Minchery Farm Lane those present voted to endorse the deal by 27 votes to nil, with a few abstentions. The three parties concerned, plus Thames Water, must now meet tomorrow afternoon to put their signatures on the paperwork which was drawn up this afternoon after a six hour meeting. Hopefully this should be a formality and from now onwards nothing will interrupt the completion of the Minchery Farm stadium and United's successful occupancy of it. Kassam, who was present at the Council meeting, had no idea what he was going to do with his new parcel of land.
