| In 1984 United lost 3-1 at Exeter in a game which saw Andy Thomas break his leg, leading to him being sidelined for over fifteen months. In 1988 United lost 5-2 at home to Wimbledon during a lean spell which saw them fail to win a game from November 7th until the end of the season. The following year, United's first back in the old Division Two, Oxford again lost on January 2nd, this time at home to Chelsea 3-2. |
The Lib-Dems are proposing that the site of the Manor be earmarked for a new library for Headington, along with a school and some flats. The current library at Bury Knowle Park is small and has no disabled access. The Acland Hospital is still hoping to develop the site (it had planning permission refused early last year).
Meanwhile Birse have said that they expect to have upwards of 100 workers on the Minchery Farm site as of this Monday, as well as a large order of steel due to arrive. They are still on track to hand over the completed stadium (well, three sides of it anyway) at the end of July this year.
Joe Kinnear is apparently talking to four players with a view to signing them for Oxford following the three successive holiday defeats. There are no clues to their identities, but they can't be any worse than the current bunch up the Manor.
