Weatherstone stays not Hayes

Simon Weatherstone has rejected a loan move to Conference outfit Hayes, presumably believing that he's better than that and that he has a place to fight for with United. This may be true, but he has yet to show it since he burst onto the scene spectacularly in Malcolm Shotton's first game in charge at Nottingham Forest.

Colchester preview

Despite the heavy snow which swept across Oxfordshire this evening the game tomorrow is likely to go ahead, as a thaw had already set in earlier this evening and is set to continue tomorrow, with temperatures of 5° and no further snow forecast.

It is likely that Lee Jarman will replace suspended captain Jon Richardson in the centre of defence. Jarman didn't take part in the reserves' fixture earlier this week and, although Ian McGuckin played the full ninety minutes he won't yet be match fit following his lengthy lay-off. Alternatively Robert Quinn could drop back to accompany Garry Monk but, after his excellent display in midfield against Walsall it is unlikely that David Kemp will want to pursue this option. Matt Murphy is the player most likely to take over Richardson's captain's armband. United will probably be unchanged otherwise. Rage Online, in uncharacteristically optimistic mode, predicts a 2-0 win for United, so we'll probably lose then.
