United have taken Derby County's fourth choice 'keeper Richard Knight on loan for four weeks as cover for the absent Andre Arendse. Knight is certain of at least one game, against Bristol Rovers at the Manor, as Pål Lundin is suspended for that fixture. Apparently it was Malcolm Crosby's influence which made Knight choose Oxford over another club interested in him. It is reported that United are also giving a week's trial, starting on Monday, to Derby left winger Sinclair Le Geyt, as we obviously don't have enough left wingers in the squad. Le Geyt's last appearance was as a substitute for Derby's reserves at Chelsea on November 25th.
It is reported in today's Oxford Mail that United's Technical Director Ray Harford has not yet been paid, and is rarely seen up at the Manor. Apparently his only contribution to the club so far is a small amount of scouting of United's future opponents. Perhaps it's time to start wondering about his role?
