Kinnear mad as a Hatter?

Joe Kinnear, who quit United just two days ago citing his health and family reasons, is now being strongly tipped to become Luton's new Director of Football. If this is true it seriously calls into question Kinnear's integrity and makes his stated reasons for leaving Oxford appear spurious at best especially if, as has been mooted, his apparent move to Luton was lined up before Christmas. Kinnear's commitment was already in doubt, not having been seen up the Manor since the Walsall game, as have some of the statements he has made concerning alleged transfer dealings. Whilst getting Kinnear to come to the Manor was a prestigious coup for Firoz Kassam, losing him in this manner will obviously be an embarrassment, if this story proves to be true.

Camberidge preview

United visit the Abbey Stadium tomorrow, scene of Phil Whelan's crap backpass last season, in a bid to end a run of seven successive away defeats. Of course nobody seriously believes that they will, but at least the U's welcome back captain Jon Richardson to the squad in place of Ian McGuckin. Also in the squad is Paul Tait, for the first time since breaking his leg against Luton in mid-October, although it is unlikely that he will be in the starting line-up. There are a number of options available to U's boss David Kemp as he attempts to restore some pride into his battered squad, including recalling Whitehead into the midfield in place of the ineffective Matt Murphy or Peter Fear. Paul Powell is still unfit so Wayne Hatswell will probably play at left back and other players almost certain to start include loanees 'keeper Neil Cutler and defender Garry Monk as well as the front duo of Phil Gray and Andy Scott. Rage Online, optimism shot away after recent displays, predicts a 3-0 win to the home side.
