Lootin’ Luton

Lootin' Luton

It was confirmed today that Joe Kinnear has become Luton Town's Director of Football, the same position he quit from Oxford a week ago because the poor sausage was so ill. It is also alleged that Kinnear is to invest up to £5 million in Luton as part of a takeover, and there is some speculation as to current manager Lil Fucillo's position, Kinnear apparently keen to install Steve Earle as manager (but no longer David Kemp, it would seem). There is talk that Kemp is set to bring new players to the Manor in the near future, provided he can find some prepared to accept United's strict wage ceiling, but talk that Neil Ruddock, given a free transfer today by Crystal Palace, is likely to be coming to Oxford is presumably nonsense given that ceiling and given that in Andy Linighan we already have an ageing ex-Premiership defender on the books.

Wells farrago

The Les Wells caution case, to determine whether or not he has a public right of way across the site of the Minchery Farm stadium, was unable to be resolved in the two days allocated and requires a third day in court, as apparently the solicitor acting on behalf of Oxford City Council needed more time for another case. This is likely to be on Friday 16th. Meanwhile the court listing office has not yet determined a slot for the Judicial Review hearing.

Tigers burning less than bright

The plight of Hull City gets worse as today they were put into administration, with 14 days to pay a £500,000 inland revenue bill plus a further £1,000,000 of debts. For full details check out this story from Sky Sports.
