More rumours

More rumours

Whilst the Gilchrist rumour remains at best improbable, a couple more likely names are now being bandied about. These are Newcastle's Stuart Elliott and Southampton's Richard Dryden. Whoever it might be Denis Smith has been quoted as saying that if he hadn't signed anyone by Wednesday (that's tomorrow) then he would start to panic, which doesn't sound like any agreements he has made are that firm.

Canada have a slight chance, perhaps?

It would appear that Dwight Yorke remains a victim of the club v. country dispute as Manchester United are refusing to release him for the CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-final against Mark Watson's Canada on Thursday, due to a thigh injury he picked up against Leeds United on Sunday. More details can be found here.

Rivals pick up points

Our relegations rivals who were in action last night both picked up valuable points. Cambridge United won 2-0 at Bury to leave them four points behind United, whilst Cardiff City drew 0-0 at Bristol City to draw level with Blackpool four points behind us.
