Watty’s pure gold

Watty's pure gold

Canada beat Colombia 2-0 in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final in Los Angeles this evening with a goal from Jason de Vos on the stroke of halftime and a Carlo Corrazin penalty in the 68th minute. This unlikely victory makes Mark Watson the first Oxford United player to win a major international honour whilst still at the club. A match report can be found here. Let's hope that this fantastic achievement concentrates the minds of the Oxford United management and Watson is offered the new contract he deserves (and United needs him to have) on his return.
Congratulations Mark Watson.

Matty's the man

Leicester City won the Worthington Cup Final 2-1 at Wembley, Matty Elliott scoring both goals to beat John Aldridge's Tranmere (who beat Oxford on the way to Wembley).
Congratulations Matty!
