Rage Online readers Player of the Decade poll – results

The winner of the Rage Online readers Player of the Decade poll was

Joey Beauchamp

Joey won a two-horse race from Matty Elliott by just 2%, receiving 38% of the votes to Matty's 36%. A long way back in third place was Paul Simpson, who received just 7% of the total votes whilst Phil Whitehead came fourth with 5%. Votes were also received for Phil Gilchrist, Les Robinson, Mickey Lewis, Johnny Byrne, Jim Magilton and Wayne Biggins (!). Rage Online hopes to be able to make a presentation to Joey to mark this honour sometime in the New Year – we are currently in negotiations with the club.

Forest fixture frozen off

Tonight's FA Cup 3rd round replay against Nottingham Forest was postponed due to an unplayable pitch and icey terracing, following a pitch inspection by referee Andy D'Urso this afternoon. The game has been rearranged for Saturday 8th January (the date of the FA Cup 4th round fixtures) and has been made all-ticket by United. At least this should give United a better chance of appearing in the draw for the 5th round.
