Burnley burn us up

In an exciting game, ruined only by the pettiness of the Burnley office staff, United lost 3-2 after twice being ahead at Turf Moor. Steve Anthrobus scored only his second goal for the club after just five minutes, but Andy Payton equalised later in the first half from a penalty, conceded by Steve Davis. In the second half Phil Whelan headed home a Joey Beauchamp corner to restore United's advantage, but Payton completed his hat-trick late on to gain the points for the home side. Oxford made two changes from the side which beat Cambridge on Sunday, with Ross Weatherstone replacing Paul Powell (Neil McGowan reverting to left wingback and Whelan and Davis moving over one position to the left) and Steve Anthrobus started in place of Jamie Cook, who later came on for Derek Lilley. There's slightly less detail in the match report, due to the reporter being stuck in traffic on the M6 for the duration of the first half.

They used to play in Yellow

Bournemouth beat Wrexham 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mark Stein. Tubby goal machine Marco Gabbiadini scored twice as Darlington won 3-0 at Northampton.
