Play it again, Sam
Sam Ricketts has been recalled from his loan spell at Nuneaton Borough, because of United's depleted midfield, for the trip to Bristol Rovers on Saturday. With both Dave Savage and James Hunt suspended there is a shortage of available midfielders and so Ricketts has had the second month of his loan curtailed.
Gas light
United travel to the Memorial Ground in Bristol on Saturday with four victories, and four clean sheets, behind them. However there will be at least two changes foisted on Ian Atkins' selection as Dave Savage and James Hunt are both suspended after clocking up five yellow cards each during the Lincoln game. Dean Whitehead is almost certain to replace one of them, with Sam Ricketts and Roy Hunter vieing for the other spot. Alternatively Atkins might choose an attacking line-up (hah!) with ROS Chris Hackett and Paul Powell options for a wing-back or wide midfield role. Up front we reckon that Jefferson Louis will be rested, possibly to be replaced by Lee Steele, as a man-management tactic to stop him getting too big-headed after urinating on swindon.
Bristol Rovers have already given an indication of their intent (to visit the Conference) by signing Robert Quinn. They've also got Giuliano Grazioli who knows how to score for Oxford. Since being relegated along with Oxford the Gas have hardly looked like regaining their place in the Second Division and, if anything, have done even worse than United, somehow. Nonethless, Rage Online reckons that our good run will come to a crashing end at the rugger ground, with Rovers beating us 2-0, why not…
