Les Wells is seeking leave for a Judicial Review in a bid to either scupper the leisure and stadium development or possibly to receive some kind of deal from Firoz Kassam in order to make him go away. The possible Judicial Review is into the granting of detailed planning permission for the leisure development, Mr Wells claiming to have seventeen grounds for a Review. In theory there is no reason why this latest development in the MF saga should delay the construction of the stadium, for which detailed planning permission has existed for some time, although with the funding of the stadium contingent on the cinema and leisure complex there could well be some sort of knock-on effect.
Prior to the open meeting last night (see report and photos below) Joe Kinnear was seen in close conversation with United's fourth choice goalie Hubert Busby Junior. Shortly afterwards Busby's name was removed from the list of players attending the pre-christmas event at the club shop tonight. Make of this what you will; we merely provide the facts for others to speculate upon. In all the excitement of the last couple of days we forgot to mention that Anders Jacobsen, who Denis Smith rated below injury victim Ian McGuckin, has had his contract at Notts County extended until the end of the season, whilst another former Smith protégé, Craig Russell, is rumoured to be on the verge of a move to County from St. Johnstone for £75,000.
