Meanwhile Derek Lilley will almost certainly be moving to Dundee United for £80,000 or, should club and player be unable to agree terms, another Scottish outfit is likely to sign Lilley. The striker, who has scored just eight goals in almost ninety appearances, still lives with his family in Leeds and both Oxford and the player are unhappy with that situation. Joe Kinnear brokered this deal over the weekend and has also circulated the names of (just?) half a dozen other players whom United are prepared to release to the League clubs. Hopefully this is the clearout that the U's high wage bill and large squad requires.
Les Wells has been successful in his request for an adjournment of the court case to consider his right of way, which was due to be heard this Thursday. It will now take place on January 28th/29th in the High Court before a judge. The delay was granted in order to give Wells more time to prepare his case, the four years or whatever since this episode began obviously not long enough.
