Something in reserve

United's reserves travelled to Cheltenham yesterday and came back with three points thanks to goals from Jefferson Louis and Manny Omoyinmi. United won the game 2-1 at Whaddon Road, with Cheltenham scoring in between United's two goals, both of which were fairly spectacular efforts. The best news for United was that both Bobby Ford and Paul Powell completed 90 minutes as they seek to return to full match fitness.

Steve Anthrobus scored tonight for TNS at home to Amica Wronki, to put the Welsh corporate whores 1-0 up. However the Polish side hit back to win 7-2 and therefore went through to the next round of the UEFA Cup 12-2 on aggregate, cruelly ending the Bus's European dream. Hapoel Tel Aviv beat Partisan Tirana 4-1 in Albania to go through 5-1 on aggregate.

Kevin Francis scored two for Hednesford last Saturday as they came from 0-2 to win 3-2 v. Cambridge City. Quote from Non-League Paper – “The home supporters went absolutely wild when Kevin Francis scored probably one of the best goals ever at Keys Park when he controlled the ball 30 yards out and fired a drive just underneath the bar” It also mentions “some fine work from Les Robinson in the centre of defence”.
