Players awards

The Young Player of the Year award was won by Dean Whitehead, who many feel should be a much more regular fixture in the first team. The Players' Player of the Year was deservedly won by Dave Waterman, who gave a heartwarming speech about how his team-mates have helped him through the trauma of his son's cancer. The Guy Salmon Player of the Year, voted for by the local Sports Writers Association, was won by United skipper Andy Crosby.

This just leaves the Supporters' Player of the Year, which will be announced prior to Saturday's game. Four players are in the running for the prestigious Andrew Knapton Trophy: Andy Woodman, Dave Waterman, Andy Crosby and Dave Savage, with Bobby Ford leading the chasing pack.
