Oxford United face Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The U’s will visit the Hawthorns in the last week of August after the Yellows defeated Bristol City 2-1 in the opening round on Tuesday night.

Norwich City loanee Carlton Morris equalised for United with his first goal for the club after Joe Bryan’s opener for the Robins within 70 seconds at Ashton Gate.

Fellow summer signing Danny Hylton then opened his account for Oxford by bagging a dramatic winner in the 87th minute from the substitute bench.

Tuesday’s victory has rewarded United with a trip to top-flight side West Brom in the week commencing August 25, where manager Michael Appleton and chief executive Mark Ashton return to their former employees.
