UE: It is so long since we have played that the players burst into a rendition of "we don't know what we're doing" at frequent intervals. On the touch line Wilder, Lewis and Melville sing back, "**** the ball, get into them", "in the net, in the net", "Down the line, in the mixer", and so on .........

MacLean Mukendi (does that sound like the president of a rogue African state)?
9005, 178
Other than the obvious UE of a game, and the Morisette irony of me driving towards Macclesfield as their raggle taggle army sets off from the Moss Rose, Wilder appoints himself shaman of Oxford and, discovering a fly agaric plant growing amidst the snow covers and moss, eats its skin and, in an amanita muscaria hallucinogenic vision rises high above the changing rooms, flying with reindeer and bestowing gifts to all centre halves, callow or geriatric. Saving only, poor Creighton, who contents himself with his meagre supper of lavabread, leeks and daffodil bulbs.

Ox the Fork 3-1 Macc the Knife
Payne, Potter, Constable. Sappleton
5600 of whom 350 will be supporting a Conference team next year.
UE Macclesfield bring a half-decent team to the Kas and despite already having beaten us once this year, look like they are a club that belongs in the Football League. Meanwhile, Australia draw the Test and win the Ashes back at Sydney, and Ricky Ponting is knighted in the New Year honours.
