The Bum's Rushden Boot

I like this Joker idea, seeing as it gave me this week's Boot, so I'm gonna copy it.
Sooo>
JOKER: What was the last competitive match to be played at the Manor (date and opponents)? (If more than one correct answer, then the remainder of the Boot comes into action, but only between those answering correctly)
1> Final score (Oxford's score first)
2> First OUFC goalscorer (you are allowed to say "no one" for this, if you're a pessimist)
3> First OUFC yellow card (you are allowed to say "no one" for this, if you're a fool)
4> First player from either side to be sent off (and you have to name a player - saying "no one" will immediately render your Boot entry null and void)
TB1> Attendance (||/- 100)
TB2> Away attendance (||/- 5)

So, what's to stop early guessers editing their joker answers when later know-it-alls give the correct answer (says he with what he thinks is the correct answer, but trying to work out the correct game theory tactic here)?

As the word "professional" is excluded from the question it must be the final of the fans 6 a side competition on the Farewell to the Manor day, unless you count the legends game (but I would have thought that was "friendly") as the final was at half-time?

For the joker, what do you mean by competitive? An FA affiliated competition fixutre?

I mean a game that is not a friendly, but on the outcome of which something is decided (so a cup game or a league game would be competitive, but a game between a bunch of old lags for amusement wouldn't be.

right, so the joker automatically wins the boot, and in this case it's not a prediction...
are you entering this one boris? presumably you know the correct answer, and if not and you're conducting research for the new book on the cheap, this doesn't bode well!

I didn't think of that, Matt! Ah well, I guess I've just automatically disqualified myself from the Joker. I'll submit my entry to the rest of the Boot, but won't do the Joker bit, as I can see that might be a tad unfair.
For the rest I'll say:
1. 2-2
2. Farrell
3. Foster
4. Rankine
TB1. 2222
TB2. 437

OK. I'll post the answer to the Joker and everyone else can follow:-
JOKER: Oxford United 1 Port Vale 1 (01-05-2001)
I post this as I cannot remember who was in the final of the fans' tournament.
1> Final score : 1-1
2> First OUFC goalscorer: Constable
3> First OUFC yellow card: Constable
4> First player from either side to be sent off : Constable
TB1> Attendance: 2,150
TB2> Away attendance: 450

Joker - as per my PM, assuming you got it. Did you get it?
Final score 2-2
First Ox goalscorer: Murray
First Ox yellow: Foster
First sent off: Constable
TB1 1,750
TB2 555
While we are in query mode:
(a) are you adding up the correct scores in the main four question section or is it a cascade?
(b) how does the ||/- 100 ||/- 5 limiter work in the tiebreak? For example if you have two qualifying competitors after questions one to four, but both their guesses on attendance are outside your error margins, what happens?

Yes, got your PM.
a) Cascade
b) Dunno. I clearly haven't thought this through very well.

Hmm, I seem to remember this coming up on here before, and it was some local league cup final or similar. Since I can't be bothered to try and find the thread, there's not a lot of point me entering this one.
Not much of a prediction competition this, really...
