erm, ah, ahem...

Anyway, good though Snake's suggestion is, unfortunately it came too late to affect the decision, which I made and implemented shortly after my last post (since which I've been having a really great time watching Madagascar 2 at the Vue, hence my not posting earlier).

Rage Online has transferred its sponsorship of Sam Deering's home shirt to Declan Benjamin's away shirt (the reason for choosing Declan, Mooro, is because I like him). Apologies to those who don't agree with this decision but I didn't want it to drag on any longer. At least Sam got a pair of boots out of the deal. There will be no official statement or fanfare.

I hope we can let this matter rest now.

I voted with the majority and boris' action is in line with that so I'm perfectly happy.

It will be interesting to see who picks up Sam's sponsorship.

Is there an alternative definition of &quotmajority&quot in force on this site? The way I read the results 35% said YES and 55% effectively said NO (in that there is no way of knowing whether he has, or will in future, display contrition privately but all the evidence we have suggests that he has).

You're not trying to &quotspin&quot this are you?

Sam Deering has made no public apology!
Sam Deering has not demonstrated contrition!

Action had to be taken within a reasonable time frame therefore precluding any future action that may or may not happen.

Therefore the majority said yes and anyway I was referring to individual element of the poll which has the most votes.

According to the Oxford United Chairman, Sam Deering has displayed contrition and apologised in private.

No spin on my part - I'm referring to the actual vote rather than an interpretation (or spin) applied to it. The vote specifically mentioned PRIVATE contrition - presumably because the club had told him not to make anuy public comments.

Exactly, there is no evidence that an apology has been made.

Depends whether you accept the word of OUFC's Chairman or not.

Also depends on whether you think Chris Williams or the manager and or chairman has been writing the program notes for the last few years.

Personally, it would have been nice to have seen something directly attributable to the player in the official release in quotes. e.g. Sam Deering said “I’ve been a complete prick

Dissapointing that the decision had to be made, but I think you've made the right one Boris.
