9-1 against Dorchester '95
Promotion in '96
Middlesbrough away '98 (Lost 4-1 but didn't care 'cos we finished 12th)
Nice to see these mentioned - I remember all three, if only because I sat horribly close to completely ecstatic Boro fans at the Riverside. Would add Trevor Hebberd.

Yea - probably loads if we care to ponder a bit
That 3-2 win at Luton (recently discussed on this very forum)
That win at Leeds in extra time with the great Jimmy Magilton scoring the winner in extra time. (recently mentione don here too I believe)
And nights that are never mentioned cos all we talk about is (old) Wembley 86, but thosed two semi final legs were unbelievable experiences.
Paul Moody running the length of the pitch at Cardiff and rounding the goalie. (I didn't make that up did I)
And for us oldies beating Man U 1-0 in Div 2 in 1972. They had all the play we had all the GOAL. Derek Clarke, get in there.
I'm filling up.

The goal scored on the volley by Paul Moody fronm just outside the penalty area in a pre-season friendly against West Ham at the London Road End. Magic!

You guys have nicked all the best moments before I’ve had a chance to come on the forum (as I sometimes tend to do a bit of work during the day, if I can be arsed) but this game is still a special moment - http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=258411

As is this game, albeit with a pitifully small crowd, but we played with 10 men for most of the game and still won - http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=272712

Come to think of it, it’s probably been since the Charlton away game that I really, really enjoyed being an Oxford United fan, given that the highlight of this season was away at Forest Green (and just wtf are they?).

It makes me want to weep - so I try not to think about it too much.

And my national team is Wales, who haven’t really qualified (1976 doesn’t count) for a major tournament during the time that I’ve existed on this planet, so I have to follow England (err, who are not much better) being as I live here now.

But hey, the word from Pravda on the official site today states that “The new season starts here as far as chairman Nick Merry is concerned

I'll add the 3-0 Wycombe away win into the mix.
And when we were 4-0 up against Sheffield Utd at half time - the atmosphere around the Manor during the break was surreal.

1) It's our team. We feel more connected to our club than any Premiership fan ever will. We can make a difference.

2) It's a journey. Only us and Carlisle to my knowledge have played in 5 divisions. With which other team could you get such a tour of English football clubs and grounds?

3) It's not cheap, but it's affordable. My colleague's season ticket at Arsenal cost him over a grand. He can't afford to go to away matches. St Albans was a tenner.

4) The players may not be great, but we're not paying them obscene money. That makes it more watchable. Our players share cars, Premiership wankers own 15 each.

5) We are real fans of a real team, not wannabe fans of an overhyped charade of a league. How many of your colleagues watch the team they pretend to support?

6) One day we will win something again (please!?). 16 teams in the Premiershit never will.

7) Great memories: Tuesday nights at the Manor, Jim Smith mark I, everything 84-87, Tranmere away, Joey Beauchamp, Crewe away, Peterborough home, Matt Elliott, Paul Moody, Yellow Fever(!).

any more...?
It is expensive. An article was done on telly the other nght on the cost of Premiership season tickets.

The cheapest Chelsea seat next season will be £666.
The cheapest Bolton seat next season will be £340.

MY SSU ticket was from memory £319 paid on the early discount scheme, so probably more at the standard rate than the Bolton ticket.

Yes it's a bit apples and pears, but it does give some guide as to how expensive we have become. A similar scenario applies to other non-leaugue clubs as well. The report suggested that Cambridge will charge £19 for a seat per match next season (I've not had a chance to check that out).

It also shows just how much subsidy the Prem teams get from the new TV deal, and the greedy bastards won't even share a small proportion of it.

Tha was a corker, part of a hat trick, which showed Moods at his best. Oh for a striker like him in his pomp again.

The 2-0 league cup win over ManUre with Gary Briggs' diving header from what seemed like about 40 yards.

Soccerbase links? What is wrong with the databank? I'm surprised that Boris (or Admin) hasn't banned you for that!

I'm just getting round to it.

Alternatively, I might just edit the offending post, while Snake's pretending to work. Some of us pay our taxes to keep skin-shedders like him in a job, you know.

Stewart Massey swinging on the crossbar at Wycombe.

Rosie's scissor kick goal against Chelsea.

And for some reason I have really fond memories of the 6-0 stuffing at Liverpool and 7-0 at Sunderland.

Reading about Keith Cox's trial in Florida that he'd forgotten to tell us about and shouting &quotGod is great!&quot down the phone to a friend.

Going down the pub after Maxwell fell overboard.

Keith always knew he was going to get off that charge (and did) - it was just a convienient way to get out of OUFC for him and Herd. The funny part came later when FK shafted him on the CVA.
