Nice to see these mentioned - I remember all three, if only because I sat horribly close to completely ecstatic Boro fans at the Riverside. Would add Trevor Hebberd.

And nights that are never mentioned cos all we talk about is (old) Wembley 86, but thosed two semi final legs were unbelievable experiences.
Paul Moody running the length of the pitch at Cardiff and rounding the goalie. (I didn't make that up did I)
And for us oldies beating Man U 1-0 in Div 2 in 1972. They had all the play we had all the GOAL. Derek Clarke, get in there.

Come to think of it, it’s probably been since the Charlton away game that I really, really enjoyed being an Oxford United fan, given that the highlight of this season was away at Forest Green (and just wtf are they?).

It makes me want to weep - so I try not to think about it too much.

And my national team is Wales, who haven’t really qualified (1976 doesn’t count) for a major tournament during the time that I’ve existed on this planet, so I have to follow England (err, who are not much better) being as I live here now.

It is expensive. An article was done on telly the other nght on the cost of Premiership season tickets.

The cheapest Chelsea seat next season will be £666.
The cheapest Bolton seat next season will be £340.

MY SSU ticket was from memory £319 paid on the early discount scheme, so probably more at the standard rate than the Bolton ticket.

Yes it's a bit apples and pears, but it does give some guide as to how expensive we have become. A similar scenario applies to other non-leaugue clubs as well. The report suggested that Cambridge will charge £19 for a seat per match next season (I've not had a chance to check that out).

It also shows just how much subsidy the Prem teams get from the new TV deal, and the greedy bastards won't even share a small proportion of it.

Keith always knew he was going to get off that charge (and did) - it was just a convienient way to get out of OUFC for him and Herd. The funny part came later when FK shafted him on the CVA.
