Re:
Had he not recently been on loan at a Division 3 club though? I don't know how well he did but I'm pretty sure he'll probably hook up with one of the better non-league outfits in the locale, perhaps Wycombe or Cheltenham."recordmeister" wrote:Talking of players we've dodged a bullet on... did anyone else see that Matthew Barns-Homer has been released by Luton and is now sans club.
D'oh.
Personally I'm thinking that up-front we're high on numbers if not quite there on quality. Perhaps one of Pittman or Smalley need to move on permanently before I think we should go looking for another replacement. I still believe we're a little lighter at the centre-back position and could do with just one more for the competition.

I'd have MBH in our squad in a heart beat. He got hounded out of Luton by the 'we're gonna piss this league' brigade but that doesn't suddenly make him a bad player."recordmeister" wrote:Talking of players we've dodged a bullet on... did anyone else see that Matthew Barns-Homer has been released by Luton and is now sans club.

Duberry, Wright, Whing & Worley?? Even the top prem clubs look a little dodgy when their main men are out."BigCrompy" wrote:"recordmeister" wrote: I still believe we're a little lighter at the centre-back position and could do with just one more for the competition.

Seems we missed out on Darren Purse - gone to Plymouth instead"Baboo" wrote:"BigCrompy" wrote:Duberry, Wright, Whing & Worley?? Surprised they can afford him."Mooro" wrote:"Baboo" wrote:Seems we missed out on Darren Purse - gone to Plymouth instead"BigCrompy" wrote: Duberry, Wright, Whing & Worley?? Even the top prem clubs look a little dodgy when their main men are out.

Duberry may not go 5 more months without another injury, Whing has only recently dipped his toe in the centre back pond, and caused many a palpitation prior, Worley has played jazz hat reserves football until now. We're just an injury and a suspension away from another lean spell, I'm always happier with 5 in the squad and the facility to go to a back 5 with one on the bench for luck if needed.

You are free to go without a stain on your character except perhaps the need to attend a free course on the use of your & you're."recordmeister" wrote:"Baboo" wrote:WHOA! You're Honour: Innocent. That's a shame, I really think he's good enough to play a part this season. I suspect a certain Mr Murray might have had a bit to do with it."Hog" wrote:Chapman to Mansfield on loan?

It's more of a trial than a loan though isn't it? Which implies we're looking to offload him."Hog" wrote:Chapman to Mansfield on loan?

Payne is a loan - maybe we're sending him out to get experience, or maybe Wilder doesn't fancy him much (seems to be the case from his limited opportunities).
I'd be worried/disappointed if we got rid of both of these players without getting a decent replacement in. Payne in particular has looked more than useful whenever I've seen him.
