U's winger Simon Hackney has joined Oxford United until the end of the season.

The wide man has found first team opportunities limited this season and joins the League Two side on a loan basis.

Manager John Ward told the official website: &quotThis is a good move for Simon.

&quotHe has been injured or out of the squad since Christmas and the team shape has developed without him in that time.

&quotHe needs to go out and play somewhere and I am pleased for him that Oxford have come in and offered this opportunity.

&quotSimon will be a good asset for them, they're just outside of the top seven at the moment and he could help them break into those play-off places.&quot

The winger signed from Carlisle two years ago, and has made just 35 league appearances in that time.
