No. In case anyone was in any doubt about Wilder's thinking on the matter, he makes it pretty clear here.

Isn't part of the point that (as was always anticipated) Franks is back to Huddersfield? A pity, because I rate him.

Not at all surprised by the rest of the CW speech: in line with what he has always said, and essentially, the right instinct. I am only slightly sorry to see Bulman and (if true) Deering going

You've based your over excited reply, to a couple of minor points questioning (not slating) the actions of the club, entirely on supposition and a few words from the often unreliable Oxford Mail.

The club doesn't have money to waste, and the club shouldn't be trying to pull the wool about the signing of an inexperienced defender, and it is entirely legitimate to question (not slate) the club's actions.

This isn't North Korea, so we don't have to simply accept what we are told! It is perfectly healthy to question decisions.
If you think that reply was over-excited, then I can only suggest you might be lacking a little bit of excitement in your day to day life GY...

My point is I think it's a fairly minor, inconsequential signing by the club that you may be trying to over-analyse. A young central defender, who has been bought in on a short term contract as cover due to injuries. According to the North Korea/OUFC official website of propaganda, he has apparently already been on trial and played in the reserves, but I'm not sure I should believe it or not. What do you think?

Baboo's point is more interesting, if Henry Owen has been sent out on loan and effectively replaced already then we can probably conclude that the rage on curse has already struck this season.

Agree with what CW says overall.

Slightly disappointed about Bullman, but the rest are probably not good enough to take us up wheresas MacLean seems to certainly have the talent and the attitude.

I assume that Wotton and Futcher as well as Franks will be off, so 2-3 new players to come in?

I see on the Fail website today that a researcher (do OM have a work experience kid this week?) has come up with a list of other clubs that Gaughan hasn't played for.*

*Before anyone flies off on one this is more a comment on the fact that the Fail seemed to have done some research (and even come up with an action pic!) rather than the ability of the subject as a footballer because we just don't know!)

So you don't believe this very website where Gaughan is listed in the line-up for OUFC reserves. Obviously you think Boris works for the PRK Govt?

Very well put - essential ingredients talent and attitiude. Pity LSD seems to only tick one of these boxes.

Not quite. Powell had real potential to play at the very top level. LSD doesn't

Part of me says that this is an illustration of CW's stubbornness, that he'd rather risk an untried (and out of contract) twenty year old, and risk losing matches as a consequence, than to recall Beast, even if only on a temporary basis.

From Friday’s OM “Banbury’s on-loan Oxford United defender Henry Owen has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee problem.
