Fully agree with you. The point I am trying to make is on that performance many concluded that he was not very good at doing the things that centre halves are in the team for and that is not really scoring 90|| minute winners. Massive bonus of course.

Take it from me Futcher will not be as good as Creighton. He might come from a line of footballing greats with Father, Uncles and Cousins (Danny Murphy) it certainly doesn't mean it follows, which in Futcher's case it doesn't. Worley carried him the other night a couple of headers from him maybe but at the moment not impressed.

So what you are saying is Chris Wilder has got it wrong in this instance.

How did Wotton play against Chesterfield? Was there an improvement from Gills, I hope so!
Improvement yes, but I can't remember a lot of what he did. Many others stood out a lot more, but we didn't get him in to stand out.
Quite right he did a lot of talking and organising, which is really why he was signed.
Blimey, my chances of a contract with Oxford have suddenly improved then...not only can I talk and organise, I can also tell jokes, cut half-time oranges and I'm really good at doing the laundry. If footballing ability is suddenly irrevelant....where do I apply...?!!

Agree with that. Creighton's a blunt instrument, but at least he's our blunt instrument, and he's shown in the past how effective he can be. If Wilder wants to bring through Worley, then I respect that - but Creighton is the better first reserve for that position.

At Chesterfield, I thought Worley had inherited some of Creighton's big headed clearances.

Would have been interesting to eavesdrop in the players' bar after the Wrexham-Mansfield game to hear what these had to say:-
Rhys Day, Adam Murray, Kevin Sandwith, Rob Duffy and Mark Creighton

Funny how it's unfair that Creighton wasn't given long enough to prove himself in league two, yet Futcher has been written (and slagged) off after three games.

I'm not saying he's going to be a world beater or even better than Creighton, but I think it's at least worth giving him a chance (I'm talking the fans point of view not Wilder's). He's clearly not match fit and I think the last defender we brought in who had a shaky start proved himself to be pretty decent once he got fit (shame he can't stay that way at the moment).
