As usual there is wild speculation in the other place that Deano will be sold for mega millions in the close season and Wilder will have a pot of gold to ensure promotion next season.
Firstly any windfall from the sell on clause will probably be snaffled by the chief ecls to repay debt.
Secondly and more pertinently does any one remember when Deano's contract expires at Sunderland, I think I have read it's the end of this season and I'm assuming when it does any sell on clauses then expire as well?

Pre or post Keane's departure? If it was extended since Keane left then there is little chance of him moving on but if it was before then there is a slightly better chance. It all depends on whether they go down or not and at the moment its still in the balance but my money's on them staying up."give me an O" wrote:Signed a contract extension this year untill 2011.

No Move For Deano
I work in Sunderland 3 to 4 days a week and many of my colleagues up there are staunch SAFC fans (a point also worth noting is the approx 50 / 50 split in fan base between SAFC and NUFC, even in the Sunderland area - however the rivalty is nothing like OUFC & STFC). The 'word on the street' up there is that Deano is unlikely to move anywhere. There was talk of a move to Hull back in November / December but that was quashed by a new contract until 2011. Personally speaking, having been to the Stadium Of Light on the odd wet and windy Tue / Wed night he's not worth more than £1M to £1.5M so we not going to get that rich anyway.

But there's often a big difference between what a player is "worth" and how much somebody is prepared to pay - remember Newcastle paid £5m for Titus Bramble!"Andrewmaha" wrote: he's not worth more than £1M to £1.5M so we not going to get that rich anyway.
