That strikes me as wild speculation based on a couple of quotes. As I said above, we don't know what has been said behind closed doors. Willmott may not be prepared to take a wage cut, especially not now that he is fit. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him sign for a League 2 club even given his age. His resurgent form has been one of the reasons that OUFC had such a good time under Wilder.

As Wilmott was stupid enough to get sent off in our crucial game against LO I'm not too upset about him going despite the fact he is a very good foil for Foster.
